River POts
River Pots and designs are a series of decorative, sculptural, pottery. They were inspired initially by the Japanese, coil-built, Jomon era pottery and grew to be influenced by much more. When constructing them, I use design elements that are found in nature and the human body and then meld these parts together. Each piece is a kind of organic exercise, building off itself to produce a unique result. Because of the intuitive, gestural, process involved, these designs naturally illustrate connections between forces and demonstrate balance. The result is a dynamic, yet peaceful visual performance.
